Looks slick; performance not great

I was very excited to try this app. I currently use Air Video which does the same thing, but only for videos. AMC looks smart and well-designed from an interface point of view, but so far the performance is enough to make me not recommend it.

Videos take over ten seconds to begin playing, probably because of a slow transcoder. It is not even an HD file, just a plain old .avi. Air Video has no problem streaming it immediately. Not sure what the hang up is with AMC. Once it does start playing, it buffers every few seconds.

Second issue: if you want to use authentication you have to provide your Macs user credentials. Im not keen on trusting that (plus my IP address) to anyone. I hope they implement a PIN system or application-specific password system.

An app to keep an eye on. Lets hope future updates fix the problems.
