Air Media Server App Reviews

Iffy

Downloaded this accidentally, as i thought it was an App Store version of the server client for Air Video- my bad. I cant say much as to which is better- the feature sets vary but seem close kin- but i do know that this app showed up after Air Video, doesnt have some basic features that Air Video has that I rely on, and it indulges in the rather scummy practice of namesharking the original app. These guys claim have orgional features of thier own- well then, they should think of thier own name to call thier own product as well. On that point alone, this is not a product i would recommend. FYI, Air Videos server client is out on the general web.

Decent

This was pretty easy to set up and use. It works pretty well with movies. It could use some work when viewing photos, because if you are viewing in landscape on an iPad, the bottoms and tops of pictures can get cut off.

Crashes on launch so far.

I haven’t been able to get anywhere with the current version of this app as it crashes instantly on my 15” Retina Macbook Pro. Giving two stars instead of one in hope that this gets fixed quickly.

Doesn’t work with Apple Time Capsule 802.11 ac

Doesn’t work with my Apple Time Capsule 802.11 ac for external coeectivity. So I can’t access from outside using their iOS app (yup I bought that too) But most of all they’ve not once returned my emails to support asking for help. Not once. update- still never responded now 4 emails to their support for help. Still get incompatible with with my Apple ac Time Capsule. Still can’t get access from outside to view content testing the internet connection gives me IP address Null - Port 0 Don’t waste your time people

no good on mac book pro retina

crashes instantly

Is there a different app?

This is the “server” app. Is there another that’s just for logging into the AirMedia system? It didn’t show up upon initial search, but I asked IT for help and I think they found it. Each time I tried to open the “server” app, it crashed, but the other seems to work.
